Julia's House are
thrilled to have been chosen as the nominated charity for this years'
Poole Festival of Running and than everyone for their support.
Being a parent of any child can be exhausting at times, but never more so than with a life-limited of life-threatened child who requires intensive one-to-one care. Sadly there will always be children who are unlikely to live into adulthood, and research indicates there are up to 200 Dorset families with such a child. Julia's House team of community nurses and carers currently help around 60 families in their own homes and now offers Dorset's first and only children's hospice too. Known simply as Julia's House, this warm inviting home is full of fun, full of colour and full of life. Here the children have access to special equipment, a play activity area, a multi-sensory therapy room and three bedrooms for overnight care. |
||
|
Julia's House receives no
government funding and is reliant upon charitable giving. In 2007
our running costs will be nearly £1.2 million.
This beautiful home-from-home, together with the continuing work of the Julia's House carers in families own home, is your local children's hospice service: a free service for every family in Dorset who should ever need it. The more funds the charity raises, the more care it can provide and the more families it can reach. Find out more about Julia's House at www.julias-house.org To speak to the Fundraising team call 01202 640402 and ask for Lin or Claire |
